Why can't I schedule an inspection?

There are several reasons that could prevent a customer from being able to schedule an inspection. Some of the more common reasons include:

  1. The building permit has not been issued yet.
  2. You are not a contact on the record.
  3. The inspection category/type requested has already been approved for this project.
  4. A required inspection has been skipped.
  5. The building permit has expired.


Prior to scheduling a final inspection, the following clearances may need to be obtained.  

  1. Clearance from the following City Department(s):
    • Planning Department. Contact 949-425-2525
    • Public Works Department. Contact 949-425-2530
    • Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). Contact 949-425-2560
  2. Final inspection approval from the following outside agencies:
    • Orange County Fire Authority. Contact 714-573-6100
    • Orange County Health Department. Contact 714-433-6000
    • Moulton Niguel Water District. Contact: 949-831-2500
