The Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley held its annual Youth of the Year Ceremony on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center in Rancho Santa Margarita. The City is proud to share that the 2022 Youth of the Year was awarded to Luis A., a Laguna Hills High School senior, from the Aliso Viejo branch! Not only was Luis the first member from the Aliso Viejo branch to receive this honor in the history of Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley, but he also received a $1,000 scholarship from the William H. Shreve Memorial Fund. Luis will go on to compete at the Orange County Youth of the Year, taking place on March 8. Runner up, Mariana Millan, a junior from Laguna Hills High School and fellow Aliso Viejo Club member, received a scholarship of $500. It was a great win for both Aliso Viejo members!
