Building Safety Month is an international campaign that takes place every year in May to raise awareness about building safety to educate civic leaders and residents. We come together to support Building Safety Month because we understand the need for safe and sustainable structures where we live, work, and play. All communities need building codes to protect their citizens from disasters like fires, weather-related events, and structural collapse.
This year, the theme of Building Safety Month is "Safety For All: Building Codes In Action." Each week during the month of May, the International Code Council will focus on a critical aspect of building safety and provide actionable things you can do to promote safety in your home and community.
