Senior Mobility Program
As a service to our seniors, the City of Aliso Viejo and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) partner to provide a Senior Mobility Program (SMP) for Aliso Viejo residents age 60 and older. To implement the program, the City contracts with California Yellow Cab for scheduled and on-demand, curb-to-curb transportation to and from the Sea Country Senior and Community Center in Laguna Niguel and the Florence Sylvester Senior Center in Laguna Hills for senior nutrition programs and other activities, as well as Aliso Viejo Ranch, Aliso Viejo City Hall, and Aliso Viejo Library. This service is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Vehicles are wheelchair accessible. There is no cost for Aliso Viejo residents to utilize this service. This service is only for transportation to and from designated senior centers. OCTA Access Transportation Program
This is a shared-ride, curb-to-curb paratransit service that is made available to qualified applicants whose physical or cognitive limitations prevent them from utilizing OCTA’s fixed route bus service. Access service is provided within a ¾ mile of, and during similar hours as OCTA’s regular fixed route service. Access service/scheduling guidelines include scheduling trips no less than 24-hours of the requested time, picking up riders within a quoted 30-minute pick-up window and rides ties generally not exceeding 90 minutes for each trip.

OCTA Same-Day Taxi Service
OCTA offers a non-ADA Same-Day Taxi Program to Access-eligible customers. Same-day taxi service is available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. OCTA subsidizes up to five miles for a same-day taxi trip. You pay the Access base fare of $3.60 for a five-mile ride; any additional costs above the five-mile trip are paid by the Access customer in addition to the base fare of $3.60.

OC Flex
OC Flex is OCTA’s new on-demand, curb-to-curb shuttle service. Service includes unlimited rides to work, play or fun for just $4.50 per day with the OC Flex mobile app, or $5 per day if paying with cash onboard. OCTA Resource Guide
OCTA participated in the Orange County Strategic Plan for Aging’s Transportation Subcommittee and a resource guide for older adults was designed. The guide contains resources to assist older adults and their family members with questions and concerns related to safe driving. Topics include:

Age Well Senior Services Non-Emergency Medical Transportation
This program provides transportation for those who cannot drive or who are cutting down on driving long distances or driving at night, as well as those with temporary and permanent disabilities. Transportation needs include running important errands and attending medical and social services appointments. This program is open to South Orange County residents ages 60 and older in designated service areas, including Aliso Viejo. Interested persons must apply for the program through the mail PRIOR to utilizing the services.
Applications are reviewed for eligibility and acceptance confirmation will be mailed to client address. This program is rider-funded with the fare of $2 per one-way trip (care attendants, spouses, or companions ride free of charge, up to 3 riders total, including client).
