Investment Policy

California Government Code Section 53646 requires the City Treasurer to submit an Investment Policy to the legislative body each fiscal year. The City’s Investment Policy complies with both the California Government Code and guidelines recommended by the California Municipal Treasurer’s Association.

The purpose of the Investment Policy is to identify policies and procedures that enhance opportunities for a prudent and systematic investment process as well as organize and formalize investment-related activities. The ultimate goal is to enhance the economic status of the City while protecting its cash and assets. The City has determined that its investment goals are safety, liquidity, and yield, in that order.

Treasurer’s Reports

The City Treasurer reports on the City’s assets and investments in monthly treasurer’s reports that are included on the agenda for official ratification at regular City Council meetings.
